Barely a week from now, we will be celebrating our wonderful mothers hence there is no better time to start celebrating them than now.

For many of us, our mothers have been a great source of inspiration to us. From their daily toils to their countless words of advise and sometimes strict punishments, they continuously set themselves up as figures worthy of emulation.


Let us take a quick look at these mothers who continue to inspire the world around them.

1. Serena Williams

Widely regarded as on the greatest female tennis players in the world, Serena Williams has risen through the ranks and stood the test of time to reach the height she is today.

She has the highest Grand Slam titles and the most wins in female singles matches among many others. 

While giving birth in 2017, she suffered complications which kept her off the court for almost 6 weeks. However she endured and returned to the French Open in 2019


2. Christina Koch

Christina Koch is an astronaut and engineer who stays at the International Space Station. She holds the record for the longest continuous stay in space and extends it each day. The record was formerly held by Peggy Wilson who stayed for 288 days in space. She is an inspiration to many people especially women in the field of aerospace engineering

3. Brigid Kosgei


At the age of 25, Brigid has won the world marathon in Chicago by a record time of 2hrs 14mins and 4 secs. As an exceptional athlete, she has also won the Chicago Marathon and London Marathon.

4. Professor Karen Uhlenbeck

Karen Uhlenbeck was the first female recipient of the Nobel Prize For Mathematics in March 2019. Her work of geometry and non linear equations among others were the bedrock of her outstanding feat in mathematics.

She is adored by many and continues to inspire many women and men who seek to make a career in mathematics.


5. Jacinda Ardern

At a young age of 37, Jacinda is the world's youngest head of state. She currently serves as the head of state of New Zealand. Jacinda is described by many as a born leader. As the first woman to take her baby to the United Nations General Assembly, she is an inspiration to career mothers world wide
