Blueprint to financial freedom education (income based)

Income is the total amount of money that an individual earns from various sources. There are primarily three types of income which are, earned income, passive income, and investment income. Each type has its unique characteristics, benefits, and downsides. In this article, we will discuss the three types of income and the examples of each type.

The first income type is earned income, which is income earned from working for someone or providing services. It is the most common type of income and is dependent on the number of hours worked, the rate of pay, and the type of work. Examples of earned income include salary, hourly wages, bonuses, commissions, and tips.

The second type of income is passive income, which is income earned with little to no effort on the part of the earner. It is earned from investments and properties that generate regular cash flow. This kind of income is not influenced by the number of hours worked, and when set up correctly, it can provide a steady source of income for years. Examples of passive income include rental income, dividend income, affiliate marketing, and royalties.

The third type of income is investment income, which is the income earned from buying an asset in the hope that it will appreciate in value over time. In other words, it is the return on investments made in stocks, bonds, mutual funds, or real estate. Investment income can either be short-term or long-term, and it is usually associated with risks. Examples of investment income include capital gains, dividend income, interest income, and rental income.

In conclusion, these three types of income have different characteristics and benefits for individuals. Depending on a person's lifestyle and financial goals, one or more types of income may be preferable. Diversifying one's income streams can also provide financial security in the long run. In any case, understanding the various types of income and how each of them works is essential for building a sustainable financial future.
