Baby goat born with one eye in Assam village (See Pictures)

The owner thinks the baby goat is a blessing and as a sign of luck.

A baby goat born with one eye has baffled villagers in Assam. The kid that was born last week also has only one ear and barely a nose. The eyelashes and eyelids are absent too. As per vets, the animal born with the rare defect called cyclopia will not live long. However, the owner thinks the baby goat is a blessing and as a sign of luck and is glad that he is receiving visitors every day to see his goat. The condition called cyclopia occurs in the womb when the brain’s two hemispheres do not separate to form two different sections. While animals with these rare disorders die with hours of birth, this one has prevailed for long.

Metro quoted the goat’s owner, Mukhuri Das said as saying, “I was shocked. It’s like a miracle and people have been coming to our place to see this baby goat. It’s my responsibility to take care of the baby goat. I have been feeding him like a normal goat. It might be something from God that the baby goat was born in our house. So many people are coming to our place to see this baby goat. We are happy that it’s making us famous.” Newborn believed to be Lord Hanuman incarnation in Bihar village, actually suffers from rare genetic disorder!

Meanwhile, villagers earlier thought it was a lie spread by the owner but couldn’t believe their eyes when they saw it.

The rare condition of cyclopia has been reported in animals including horses, pigs, cows, cats and even some species of sharks. Reportedly, a piglet born with elephant trunk and no hair had shocked doctors.
