Communications Minister Is Evading Accountability - Minority Accuses

The Minority in Parliament has recently accused the Communications Minister, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful of trying to avoid accountability. According to the Minority, she has failed to appear before the House to answer questions. This incident is reported to be the third time.

Ursula Owusu-Ekuful was slated to answer 10 questions on Tuesday but her Deputy Minister notified the House that the answers were not ready and that she will answer them, personally, at a later date.

The questions are reported to border around the e-levy and other relating issues. Minority Chief Whip, Muntaka Mubarak has accused Ursula Owusu-Ekuful of disrespecting the House. According to the Asawase MP, there is a deliberate attempt from the Communications Ministry to evade questions.

Meanwhile, the second Deputy Speaker, Andrew Amoako Asiamah was also not too happy about Ursula Owusu-Ekuful's absence from Parliament. For him, even if Ursula has an emergency to attend to, the answers should have been here so that the Deputy Ministers could have taken the responses.

Why Do You Think The Communications Minister Failed To Appear Before Parliament For The Third Time?
