There is more fire being heaped on the head of the renowned journalist, Captain Godsbrain Kwadwo Smart, from the NPP fraternity and other stakeholders after the massive turnout of the fixthecountry demonstration beyond every expectation. The people ranging from Kwaku Annan of Net 2 TV, Ernest Owusu Bempah, and the likes have questioned the moral aptitude to speak in the manner he has been doing, even before the demonstration.
In his submissions at various times, the journalist has indicated that the time to use weapons to overthrow a government is over, and that it is time he, together with the youth of this country, use their mouth to overthrow bad governance. This statement does not seem to be of any serious repercussions to people, as much hasn't been said about it.
Well, Honourable Hopeson Adorye seem to disagree with everyone else on this issue. He has indicated that, as long as the word 'overthrow' has appeared in Captain Smart's statement, it becomes a reasonable offense which has to suffer the penalty for it. On The Seat show on Net2 TV last night Monday 9th August 2021, Hopeson Adorye called out the Inspector General of Police, Dr George Akuffo-Dampare to investigate that statement and if it constitute a reasonable offense, then Captain Smart should be made to face the law squarely.
