Ghanaians descend on Nana's appointee for saying Alban Bagbin blows $600,000 on medical bills

Over the period, Ghanaians are gradually becoming very conscious about how those who have been given the mandate to rule the country are using their resources. Consequently, the amount of money spent by government officials in any regard is of great concern to the Ghanaians. Amidst below-expectations performance and unfulfilled promises made by the political class, the ordinary Ghanaian, unlike before, is judging governance from the national point of view, as against looking at things from the political lenses times past.

The President, Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo came under public scrutiny when the purported amount of money he spends on his trips abroad came to the public view. Though government communicators have tried to justify why the president spends money on a chartered flight, as against using the presidential jet, the majority of Ghanaians have criticized the head of state for living in luxury as he has asked the citizens to tighten their belt in the face of unfavorable economic conditions.

As typical of the political system of Ghana, it is members of the opposition National Democratic Congress that have been feeding Ghanaians with the supposed amount spent by the president. However, a Presidential Staffer, Charles Nii Teiko Tagoe, in his bid to counter the opposition for their constant criticism of the amount spent by the President on his trips abroad, incurred the wrath of Ghanaians.

Recalled that the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin traveled to the United Arab Emirates for medical examination. It is on this note that, Charles Nii Teiko Tagoe, in a Facebook post, stated that the Speaker of Parliament will spend $600, 000. Netizens who were disappointed by what he said, took to social media to chastise him.

Here are reactions from Ghanaians when Kwame A-Plus posted his assertion on his timeline;
