John Mahama, former President of Ghana took to his Facebook page to declare that his daughter, Farida Mahama does not have a Facebook account. The former President is asking the general public to disregard any page or profile created in the name of the young girl.
The former President continued that all the accounts found on social media; Facebook and Twitter among others are all fake and operated by scammers. The public especially, netizens should stop engaging with those accounts because Farida has no single account on social media. Read the attached document below for more details.
The creation of fake accounts in the name of influential people is on the increase. Many people do that in order to get more engagements(like, comments and shares). Some others hide behind those accounts to tarnish the hard earned reputations of prominent people. There are others who use such account or pages to scam unsuspecting people in the country.
The public should beware of interacting with accounts that are suspicious. There are so many of such accounts which feature videos, pictures and post supposedly from the people in whose names they're created and this particular ones are not exempted.
