Jean Mensah Operating EC like Sole-Proprietorship - Dafeamekpor

Issues about the Electoral Commission have been in the news even before and after the General Election which was conducted on 7th December 2020.

Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor, who is a Member of Parliament for South Danyi also lash out at the Electoral Commission(EC) for operating the Commission as a sole proprietorship.

Mr. Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor made it clear that the Commission at the moment just takes decisions without seeking anyone's opinion or approval meanwhile, the Electoral Commission is regulated by the laws of the country.

Mr.Dafeamekpor made this known in an interview with TV3 network that, The Electoral Commission currently is being run like a sole proprietorship. they are operating it in their desired ways.

He further explained that the commission runs with the law and if there are problems with the analysis of results they must resolve them before declaring the result.

Mr. Dafeamekpor however, said that EC is counting on the percentage that the president-elect obtained more than 50 percent but in English when you state more than 50 percent it means it can either 70 percent, 75 percent or 90 percent.

He also takes a figure from Northern Region where he said on the pink sheet that the Commission depends on to posted onto the Website, the entire Northern Regional figure secured by the President was 409,000 but in writing the figure, they 499,000 that is a huge difference of 90,000 votes
