Yesterday Hon. Alhaji Bashir Fuseini, the member of parliament for Sagnirigu constituency in the Northern Region made a very muddling comment on Pan African TV's Good Morning Africa show. In his submission on the approach with which the government is fighting Covid-19 in the country, he lambasted the Akuffo Addo government for its dormancy as far as Covid-19 is concerned.
He said the government is gambling with the lives of Ghanaians because whiles other countries like India are putting measures in place by closing borders and contacts tracing to curb the deadly Covid-19 disease, the Akuffo Addo government is just sleeping and spewing equivocating grammar to the ordinary Ghanaian in the midst of the deadly virus. He said the government doesn't cherish the lives of Ghanaians, it is rather putting the lives of the ordinary Ghanaians in an irredeemable jeopardy.
Hon. Alhaji Fuseini further lamented that the government, upon taking billions of cedis from the national purse to fight the disease, has nothing to show Ghanaians. After parliament approved the billions of cedis which the government claims to have dedicated it to uproot Covid-19 from the country, the government has not been able to procure a single vaccine; the money has been used for the benefits of the Akuffo Addo and his cohorts. He further fumed about the fact that the government is still owing contact tracers after even contracting a loan from the IMF to reinforce the fight of the pandemic.
These are some of the words of the member of parliament; "this government does not cherish the lives of Ghanaians and so has not put any step in place. There is no serious attempt to undertake testing in the country again. This is the current status that we have, and the worst of it all is that government has embezzled the money of the country and still owes contact tracers."
