Kelvin Taylor has accused Chiefs and traditional leaders in the country of sitting on the fence as Nana Akuffo Addo engages in what he called mismanagement of the economy. Ranting on his Loud Silence Show, Wednesday, October 13, he pointed out that, the silence of the Chiefs on the activities of Nana Akuffo Addo is too loud and it is affecting the prospect of the country.
He said this following the allegations that, despite the public outcry, the President hired another expensive private jet to Serbia. The outspoken media personality said that a Chief like Otumfour Osei Tutu II, is a Chief who is highly respected not just in Ghana, but outside the country, since he also leaves within the same society like everyone, he should have voiced out on happenings in the Nana Addo-led government, which according to Kelvin Taylor doesn't augur well with the development of the country.
"We always say you Otumfour are the most revered Chief in Ghana, you are even respected by Queen Elizabeth, so why are you not speaking on this things happening in the country? You are also a Ghanaian and experience what we all go through", he said.
He also bemoaned why the prominent Chiefs in the country are not proactive about things that go on in the country but wait until things get out of hand before they adopt curative measures to remedy the situation when the harm may have been done already. He lamented why the according to him, the Chiefs sat down and people lost their lives in the 2020 Elections before they engaged stakeholders to make peace.
He added that, if Chiefs in the country do not keep Akuffo Addo in check, they will open themselves for insults if a new government comes to power and they criticize it. " As you have kept mute about what is currently happening in this government, will you talk when a new government comes in and is also getting it wrong? That's when the Chiefs open themselves up for attacks", he said.
