Akwasi Addai aka Odike has been banished and his lands confiscated by Ashanti regional traditional authorities for his utterances which are deemed disrespectful to the chiefs. The gentleman is vociferous and criticized his chiefs for failing to address the illicit act of illegal mining popularly known as 'Galamsey.'
The statement incurred the wrath of Manhyia Palace and the Spontaneous reactions are over and above. Odike has duly been sanctioned, however, more actions have been taken against the media house which hosted the program.
It is alleged gunmen stormed the office of the United Progressive Party located at Mpatase one afternoon and vandalized the place. They are believed to have attacked some staff and smashed the window screen of the car belonging to the politician in a supposed reprisal attack for his comments.
Fast forward, the acting President of Kumasi traditional council headed by Baffour Amankwatia VI has summoned the management of Oyerepa FM to appear before the council and instructed them to stop operating from tomorrow onwards.
Kevin Ekow Baidoo Taylor has expressed his disappointment at the decision of the chiefs and commented on his social media page that "this better be a joke." To him, the politician spoke the truth which was uncomfortable for them.
