Yesterday, the First Deputy Speaker and Member of Parliament for Bekwai Constituency, Hon. Joseph Osei-Owusu overturned the ruling of his boss, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Bagbin on the 2022 Budget. The budget was approved by a one-sided House made up of only the Majority after the Minority boycotted yesterday's Parliamentary sitting.
The approval of the budget by the one-sided House has sparked a lot of debates and arguments among Ghanaians. This has also left many confused while the Minority has also described the move by the Majority to be unconstitutional and illegal.
The attention of the Minority has been brought to a viral video which captured an alleged non-member of the House who sat and was counted to be a Member of the House. The number of the MPs in the House was given to be 138 (plus himself) by the First Deputy Speaker, Hon. Joseph Osei-Owusu. The video showed a Member of the House purported to be the Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya Constituency, Hon. Sarah Adwoa Safo.
