Bawumia: The Name They Fear To Hear"/>
Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia bemoaned the lack of reading culture among members of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
He says instead of the NDC and its members spending more time to read and seek clarification on achievements of the Akufo-Addo government they are rather going about referring to his statements as lies.
The Vice President made these remarks while addressing a durbar of Chiefs at Cape Coast in the Central Region last Monday, September 26, 2022.
"Today marks yet another day of the commissioning of yet another Sinohydro project fiili fiili (sic). Unfortunately for some of our opponents, when we say something and they don't understand, instead of asking for an explanation and also reading about it, they don't like to read, they don't ask for explanation, they just say you are lying".
"But today as we commission the project they are silent, they are no longer saying it is not possible", he said.
Dr Bawumia was in the region to commission a new road project; he cut the sod for its construction in November 2021.
He further disclosed that a total of 441km of road with two interchanges are to be constructed in the region to help ease up "intra-urban, regional and national traffic flow and to strengthen regional economic integration".
