Anas Ploted To Entrap Liberia’s President and Nyantakyi- Kennedy Agyapong Reveals

Liberia’s President, George Weah was a target in an entrapment plot by investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas, Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong has alleged. According to him, the Liberian President could have been entrapped alongside former President of the Ghana Football Association, Kwasi Nyantakyi, by Anas Aremwyaw Anas in the purported “Number 12” corruption documentary.

Mr Agyapong stated that George Weah at the time was enthusiastic about the proposition from Anas’ “fake” investor, and had wanted to engage them, and also because he was vying for Presidency. He disclosed that Anas and his team invited Nyantakyi three consecutive times to Dubai but failed to show up in those invitations.

According to Kennedy Agyapong, Nyantakyi in his first invitation from Anas went with George Weah to transact business as proposed. It was when Nyantakyi expressed disappointment with the manner he was being treated and threatened to sue Anas that the meeting was finally called, Kennedy Agyapong added.

“Kwasi Nyatakyi was invited three consecutive times to Dubai. The first one, he went there with the Liberian President. They stayed in a hotel, Anas and his group did not show up. Kwasi Nyatakyi and his team threatened to sue them. That was the first time Anas showed up, pleading with Kwasi Nyantakyi,” said Kennedy Agyapong.

He continued that Anas and his team have been entrapping many people including judges, lawyers, and other public officers under the guise of undercover journalism. He refuted claims that Anas’ work are journalistic and with a genuine cause of resolving societal ills.
