VIP Bus Drowning In Oti River Has Been Salvaged

A VIP bus has been saved from drowning.

News from the Ghana News Agency(GNA) is that, a VIP bus has been dived into the Oti river in the Oti region.

The VIP bus with the registration number GT 5313-19 has plunged into the Oti river when was on it's way to enter the pontoon at Dambai in the Krachi East metropolis in the Oti Region of Ghana.

According to reports, the VIP bus was on the way to Wulensi, a town in the Northern region of Ghana from Accra Thursday morning.

The VIP bus driver has already told the passengers on board to alight so that, he gets the bus on the pontoon. While maneuvering to get onto the pontoon to cross to the other bank of the river to continue it's journey thrusted into the river after suspecting a failed break. One passenger had told the media.

More efforts were made to bring the bus out from the river but to no avail. An excavator deployed to pull the bus out also failed until they called in one winch tractor which successfully pulled out the bus.

According to the Ghana News Agency(GNA), although there were no casualties but the personal effects of the passengers and some items including motorbikes and bicycles are left at the mercies of repair after retrieving them from the river.

The Motor Traffic and Transport Division (MTTD) who were at the scene didn't speak to the media when interrogated. The driver and his mate too refused to speak.
