Majority Leader who also happens to be a member of Parliament for Suame Constituency has sparked another controversy after he boldly revealed who he thinks should lead the New Patriotic Party in 2024 elections as the flag bearer.

The NPP is supposed to elect a new flag bearer of the party going into the 2024 general elections because the current President, Akufo-Addo is not eligible to contest again. Dr. Bawumi and Alan Kyeremanteng are the leading people to win the position. Hon. Kennedy Agyapong has also shown interest in the position.

While speaking on Sompa FM and Tv in Kumasi, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu revealed that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will be the best person to lead the NPP going into the 2024 elections.

" For me, I think Dr. Bawumia should be our flag bearer going into the 2024 elections. I know what I'm saying will spark a lot of controversies but this is my opinion and I'm not scared to let it out. I will not be the running mate for Dr. Bawumia but I was told to elect someone from Ashanti Region for him and I know they are working on it. Dr. Bawumia has enough experience to rule the country and make this place a better one." He said this on Sompa FM and TV.
