People believe he had always relied on the various accounts of his appointees in relation to the real progress or development so far in his administration which had invariably been 'lies'.
Many are of the opinion that the President has no proper appreciation of the economic conditions, infrastructural deficit and real challenges the ordinary Ghanaian suffers.
The President has on several occasions touted some achievements of his government and demeaned that of the Mahama led NDC government.
However, some Ghanaians insist that there are a whole lot to achieve in order to lessen the cost of living burden and in effect improve the standard of living of the ordinary Ghanaian.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is essentially on a nation wide tour as he had been to some regions to have a feel for himself, the progress and the challenges in those parts of the country.
He is currently on a four day working tour in Ashanti Region and of course had paid a courtesy call on the 'Overlord of Asanteman', His Royal Majesty, Otumfour Osei Tutu II, the 'Asantehene' in the Manhyia Palace.
The Asantehene has praised President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for his commitment to the development of the Ashanti region and the country.
He also praised the President for his tour of the country, adding that, “if you stay in your office, your appointees will tell you what you want to hear. This tour will help you verify what you hear and know the truth.”
"I know you and you do not disappoint. I trust you and I know you will honour Asanteman". Asantehene added.
Many people in Ashanti Region believe the NPP has done very little in the region in terms development. They believe the kind of attention given the region does not commensurate with the numbers the region gives to NPP in general elections.
President Akufo-Addo also expressed gratitude to Otumfour and Asanteman for supporting the New Patriotic Party and his candidature in the 2020 general elections.
