Alhassan Bashir Fuseini, a member of Parliament representing the Sagnarigu constituency, apologized to Ghanaians while speaking about the 2022 budget, which was allegedly rejected by Parliament. During his speech, he bemoaned the hardships and mismanagement of Nana Addo's administration.
He attempted to explain how the government intended to finance its wasteful spending to the detriment of the citizenry body with this new budget.
He acknowledged that he, like all other members of Parliament, is there because of a full mandate from their constituents, not because of any special privilege. He believed the decision to reject the budget was motivated by this fact. He apologized for the NDC's previous actions in assisting the government with its operations. He mentioned the approval of all ministers as one example.
"I admit that we have made mistakes in the past. There was this issue that came up during the ministers' approval. Ghanaians wanted us to reject some of them, but things did not go as planned. We sincerely apologize "He stated
He stated that the NDC MPs have put that behind them and are ready to hold the government accountable.
