There are still arguments as to who to fix this country. Some Ghanaians believe some citizens need to fix their attitudes before President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Akufo-Addo and his New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration can fix this nation.
The veteran journalist, Blessed Godbrain Smart popularly known as Captain Smart has recently posted a picture of how lawless some Ghanaians can be in terms of obeying the laws of the land. According to him, the picture below was captured around Tema Navy Barracks.
Someone has purchased gravels and instead of loading off it on his land, he decided to drop it in the middle of an asphalt road. It appears the road even leads to a 'T-junction' which even poses more danger to other vehicles. Also, the road does not have enough street lights. This means that the gravels are like to cause accidents at night.
In view of this, Captain Smart said that some Ghanaians need to change their attitude:
"Can we please change our attitudes as Ghanaians? This picture was taken around Tema Navy Barracks".
This propelled some Ghanaians to react that, some citizens on the most serious note need to fix their attitudes. They know the right thing to do but will choose to disobey the law. But when an unfortunate event happened from their lawlessness, they blame it on the government.
Others believe that it is rather the implementation of the law that is weak. People in authority choose to sit at the comfort of their office instead of being on the field to work. They sit at their offices and receive salaries every month, so they do not bother to go around and check whether citizens are obeying the laws of the land.
Check out some comments of some Ghanaians below:
A Facebook user known as Stage Pharell reacted that "Our attitudes can’t be changed if the laws are not being implemented what is the position of the law on this, where are the MTTU who have to stop their core mandates only to take 1ghc from innocent Pragya drivers, where is the transport ministry whose only aim is to sit at the comfort of their offices and blot checks, the laws in the country must work".
Another Facebook user known as Kakah Bright said that "The system is not working. Humans will always want to have their ways that's why we have systems to direct them to a collective course".
