Doumbouya Returns Home To A Heroic Welcome: Scores Stormed The Streets To Honor Him

Doumbouya is all things to all people and he is loved dearly by both young and old. His absence from Guinea within a few hours is felt and the masses yearned for his return.

The 62nd independence anniversary of Mali was held yesterday and Doumbouya was invited by the junta leader Colonel Assimi Goitta as the special guest of honor. He was honored and gifted the highest military honor in a form of a scepter and certificate.

Fast forward, Mamadou Doumbouya has been welcomed back into his homeland country with warm reception. Hundreds of people trooped into the streets at a very late hour just to catch a glimpse of the interim head of the transition as the plane touched down.

As required by the military to play the national anthem, the junta chief received the salute of his fellow officers in uniform including commissioned officers and civilian appointees including prime minister Bernard Beavogui.

The masses chanted and waved the Guinean flag at the presidential motorcade to indicate how joyous they are to have the coup maker returned safely. Top dignitaries also lined up to welcome the coup maker.
