NDC Await Supreme Court Verdict On March 4th

Ghana's Supreme Court led by the Chief Justice Anin Yeboah among other Justices on Thursday 4th March 2021, would announce the final verdict of the 2020 Election Petition Hearing.

However the Petitioner, former president John Dramani Mahama and the National Democratic Congress "NDC" have tightened their seat belt as they await the final verdict of Ghana's Supreme Court.

The National Democratic Congress and their 2020 presidential candidate, Mr. John Dramani Mahama affectionately known as "JDM" headed to the Supreme Court of Ghana after last year's December polls.

They were unable to accept the presidential results after the returning officer, Mrs. Jean Adukwei Mensa declared New Patriotic Party's candidate Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo President for the 4th Republic of Ghana on 9th December, 2020, after securing 51.59% of valid votes cast as against former president John Dramani Mahama's 47.36%.

The "NDC" Party legally petitioned the supreme court 21 days after the Electoral Commission's declaration to challenge the results of what it calls a ‘stolen election’.

Nevertheless the final verdict from Ghana's top court will determine if the New Patriotic Party shall continue its Governance administration or the Petitioner's 2020 presidential results challenge may lead to a run-off between Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and John Dramani Mahama.
