The member of Parliament for North Tamale Constituency, Alhassan Suhuyini has reiterated that the continuous ignoring of concerns raised by Ghanaians regarding his opulent trips is very sad and quite unfortunate.

Alhassan Suhuyini made this disclosure during a panel discussion on the Newday show on TV3 today, October 13, 2021.

The President travelled to Serbia over the weekend to join leaders in celebrating the anniversary of the Non-Alligned Movement of which Ghana is a founding member.

Even though the Presidency did not share images of the departure and arrival regarding the trip, the Serbian Foreign Affairs Ministry shared images of the President’s arrival on its Twitter page.

The member of Parliament for the North Tongu Constituency, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has revealed that the President traveled with the same luxurious flight that he raised questions on some weeks back and that, that trip alone cost the taxpayer about 3.5M Ghana cedis.

This, Alhassan Suhuyini says it’s sad and worrying.

” It is very sad that the President has decided to ignore the genuine concerns of Ghanaians and continue to engage in opulence. This trip alone cost the country about 3.5M Ghana cedis. It is quite unfortunate and sad.

Dr Bernard Okoe-Boye, former deputy Minister of Health who was also on the show advised that Ghanaians do not focus too much on the luxury aspect of the President’s trips but his safety.
