The Fights In Parliament Is Part Of Democracy And We Are Proud Of It - Second Deputy Speaker

The second deputy speaker of Parliament and MP for Fomena Hon Andrew Asiamah Amoako has spoken on the recent happening at the Parliament concerning the 2022 budget. He began by saying that the Parliament is still going through the process of approving the budget for the 2022 calendar year. Ghana's Parliament has equal stands in terms of the two main political parties in the country; NPP and NDC.

Due to this, approval of the budget has become a big issue to deal with. He mentioned that the fights and quarrels that were witnessed in Parliament yesterday are part of democracy. Nonetheless, they hope to corporate at a point and get the budget through which is to carry on the work of the government business to next year.

The Honourable MP said that even though they fight as part of their democracy, they are proud of the democracy they are practising. He added that everybody is talking and making a point whether good or bad and they as the Parliament are entertaining it.

He mentioned that it is the best way to go rather than one person pulling out a gun and shutting all others down, putting the democracy aside because he or she knows everything. Finally, he said that the Parliament will always welcome any suggestion that will improve democracy in the country.
