We Are On Our Kneels Otumfuo And Dormaahene, Please Cease Fire

As the African adage goes, When two elephants fight, it's the grasses that suffer. When powerful forces go to war, it's their people who are hurt. The ongoing historical words of war between His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyemang Badu II will only do their people more harm than good.

Historically, we know that the nation Ghana was built by different migrants. Not withstanding, we all have lived together as one nation till now. We don't need the war of words about who's ancestors was greater than the other. Nananom, how much does it contribute to our development as a nation today?

We have heard of how the Rwanda tribal war of Tustsi's and Hutu's from 1st October 1990 to 1994. Over the course of this war, between 500,000 and 1,000,000 Tutsi and moderate Hutu were killed in the Rwandan genocide. Should we wait for this tribal supremacy to develop into a war between Ashanti's and Dormaa's? Nananom, you have better answer to the above than I do.

Today, Dormaahene will say " we killed Obiri Yeboah and Otumfuo reply saying we killed Dormaa Kusi. Of how useful will this contribute to the well being of your people? This development is not healthy at all. Just as we hold high our chieftaincy institutions, so should our traditional authorities also respect the laws of Ghana and the Constitution of the land.

I’ll plead with this two eminent leaders to make peace immediately to avoid further escalation of tensions because of the important roles they’ve been playing in our traditional authority and also the behind the scenes peace efforts between our political actors.

Kotoko football club can't avoid playing game with Aduana FC and likewise the later can't avoid playing games at Kumasi. Should the people react with tribal anger, what will be the outcome?

Nananom, Why can't you let the sleeping dog lie.We have a common enemy in this country which is poverty ,hunger and even omicron. That's what we should be fighting collectively.

In this 21st century Kings and chiefs are vital to the development to our various communities. Politicians and other big stake holders listen to them because of their well earned reputation. Please Nananom, we are on our Kneels, cease fire.
