One of the challenges that is confronting President Nana Akuffo Addo and his government is corruption. Some journalists and well meaning Ghanaians are mounting pressure on the government to intensify the fight against the corruption menace. One of these people is Captain Smart.
Renowned Radio and Television Personality, Captain Smart has claimed that President Akufo-Addo addressed him as intelligent and smart journalist. He made this revelation on ONUA TV this morning, Wednesday, 1st August, 2021.
He said, " When President Nana Akuffo Addo, the then presidential aspirant came to Kumasi in 2008, he addressed me as intelligent and smart. I am very intelligent so I do not argue with 'fools'. If you argue with a fool, he or she would bring you to his or her level".
"President Akufo-Addo should do something about corruption. People like me are not corrupt. I have never been bribed in my professional life. I will disappoint Ghana and the general public if I accept bribe".
The veteran Journalist went on to make bold statement about Ghana's first President, Dr Kwame Nkrumah. " Whether you like it or not, Kwame Nkrumah is Ghana's founder. Do not create any holiday for your father or uncle", he added.
" I have dreamt about Dr Kwame Nkrumah for more seventy (70) times. Yesterday, he (Dr Kwame Nkrumah) appeared in my dream. He said Ghanaian youth should expect something big in the 2024 elections. If you are a young politician, do not be scared. Contest for any position and you may win. The next election is not going to be family affair. I see what most journalists do not see".
The latest CDD survey has casted serious doubts about President Nana Akuffo Addo's willingness to fight corruption. The survey says, sixty-two (62%) of Ghanaians believe that the Nana Akuffo-Mahmud Bawumia leadership is not doing enough to fight corruption.
