Ashanti Chief makes these bold statements after Mahama visited the Ashanti region in preparation for his Ashanti regional tour. Mahama’s visit to various parts of the country is due to the upcoming elections and how the national democratic congress are preparing themselves for the elections.
The Ndc have been seen in a very focused mood as they seem to have no room to leave any stone unturned. During one of his interviews on Akina radio, the former president made a very controversial statement which has been trending till this day. The krontihene of Sekyedumase, Nana Agyapa II was surprised at the twist in the statement made by Mahama. According to the Sekyedumase krontihene, Nana Agyapa II, he is surprised at how the words of the former president were twisted by some people.
We will never support violence in this country and I don’t think the words were words that were violent or calling for violence- he declared in defense of the former president. He stated that after listening to the words from Mahama himself, he realized it was a statement made to mean different things and not what many are assuming. He revealed that we should not politicize such comments since it will only become a means to cause chaos and pandemonium all over.
Mahama’s visit which is to commence in no time is supported to cover various parts of the Ashanti region where he needs to thank and appreciate them for their votes and supports. The Ashanti region is known as a hot zone for the Npp but we can see clearly that politics is taking new directions. There were a lot of members of parliament from the Ashanti region who were Ndc members.
The majority of the votes went in favor of Nana Addo but the Ndc were not left out of. This proves a fact that there are still people in the region who are great supporters of the Ndc and president Mahama.
