It's about 56 days for the upcoming general elections to be held but the current status of the season is not favourable at all.

Each and everyday almost all the news we hear on the media are sorrowful, and they mostly concern our political leaders. These dangers have left many citizens in a complete state of fear because today it's our political leaders who knows if tomorrow it will be the ordinary citizen.

Is this the Ghana our first president, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah left for us? Or this is a secret fight among our political leaders? Or is it some bad people who have agreed to wickedly use this season to misbehave?

No one can actually tell the root of these bad things happening in our dear nation. Day in and day out our police men, and security agencies are doing their best to ensure a very good security system on our roads, and in our communities and societies but still these dangers are increasing daily.

Especially within this very week most of our political leaders have been attacked others were robbed and killed as well, a notable case is the robbing and killing of Mfantseman Member of Parliament (MP), Hon. Ekow Quansah Hayford whose death occurred on October 9, 2020 after suspected armed robbers attacked and shot him when he was returning from Dominase to his residence at Mankesim.

Another sad news has occurred as two family members of Hon. George Mireku Duker, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Tarkwa-Nsuaem constituency have suffered an intense cutlass wounds after they were attacked by some assailants.

The reason why they were attacked by the assailants remains a mystery, but a prolonged chieftancy dispute at the MP's hometown, Dompem has been linked to this matter.

But the MP has given out an information concerning what really brought up this sorrowful incidence that has happened to him and his family.

Hon. Mireku Duker has said during the funeral of one of the eldest in the community a teenage boy was suspected to be taking photos and videos of what was going on.

He also said the teenage boy was attacked and molested, this made a family member of his to interfere this led the teenage boy attackers to attack his family.

Hon. Mireku also said the attack didn't take place at his own residence but that of his extended family residence.

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Tarkwa-Nsuaem constituency, Hon. Benjamin Kesse in an interview blamed the police of not handling matters professionally as they should.

"The MP and I are not safe because the police haven't been professional, I was attacked some weeks ago and reported the incident to the police, I went to the hospital and submitted the police medical form, the police are yet to arrest the perpetrators."

The MCE believes that poor handling of matters by the police could be one of the factors of this incident happening to Hon. Mireku's family.

Robert Amoh has been arrested by the Tarkwa Divisional Police Command as a suspect in connection with the attack on Hon. Mireku's family.

Robert Amoh who is also known as Jator is said to be the lead attacker who nearly butchered a distant family member of Hon. Mireku Duker.

Among the two victims one is said to be responding to treatment, and the other is also said to be in a very critical condition.

We're looking forward to see the police arresting all the attackers involved in this serious matter, and our prayer is that the victims will soon recover.
