Ghana Must Not Forget: John Mahama May Prosecute Perpetrators of Election Violence

There is seemingly lack of commitment on the part of successive Ghanaian Governments to implement recommendations of Commission's and committees set up to investigate violence and wrongdoings in the country.

Former President John Dramani Mahama met with the victims of the Ayawaso West Wuogon By-election violence. This was made public by the Former First Gentleman in a Facebook post.

He wrote, " Ghana must not forget what happened was my concluding remark during a meeting with victims of the violence and gun shots during Ayawaso West Wuogon By-election of 2019".

With most of National Democratic Congress' faithfuls including the Minority Leader Honourable Haruna Iddrisu, favouring John Dramani Mahama's Flagbearership in 2024, it looks like he ( John Dramani Mahama) may prosecute the perpetrators of the Ayawaso West Wuogon disturbance as well as the sporadic deaths that characterised the 2020 presidential and parliamentary elections should he win the next election.

Some Facebook followers of the Former President commented and had this to say:

"Whoever visited this on them must surely pay. Anytime I see John Dramani Mahama, I see incoming political Messiah. I love his humbleness.

Another person also said," You (John Dramani Mahama) must tell us what happened in Atiwa, Talensi and Chereponi By-elections under your watch"
