We still don't believe you; Ghanaians tell Adwoa Safo as she breaks silence on impersonation claims

The minority caucus in Parliament has disclosed it is investigating a case of impersonation of the Dome-Kwabenya lawmaker, Lawyer Adwoa Safo in Parliament on Tuesday, November 30. The minority suspects the woman the majority brought to Parliament was not Lawyer Adwoa Safo.

In an interview on the Joy Morning Show ( Wednesday, December 1), Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Member of Parliament for North Tongu Constituency, said “Following pictures and videos we are reviewing this morning, it is becoming quite apparent to us that there may be a case of impersonation with regards to the lady who was presented as Adwoa Safo. It’s beginning to appear that she may not be Adwoa Safo".

However, Lawyer Adwoa Safo who appeared in Parliament, today December 1, without his Facebook, debunked the allegations. Lawyer Adwoa Safo stated categorically that the records of the house shoes she was in Parliament on Tuesday when the majority set aside the earlier rejection of the 2022 budget and have it approved. She went on to demand those making the impersonation claims to withdraw.

"Mr. Speaker, this is a house of records, and as the former deputy majority leader of this house, I was present in this house yesterday. Mr. Speaker, and to state categorically that, I cannot force Honourable Okudzeto Ablakwa, who is my friend on the other side to dress the way I want him to dress and that is an insult on womanhood, and so those making that noise, Mr. Speaker should withdraw", she said on the floor of Parliament.

However many Ghanaians do not still believe it was Lawyer Adwoa Safo who showed up in Parliament yesterday, as they contend the person seen in the house yesterday is entirely different from Adwoa Safo who spoke. They, therefore, took to the comments section of the Facebook timeline of TV3 Ghana who shared the video to express their dissatisfaction.
