In his quest to ensure that youth In the Zongo communities across the country get relieved from financial challenges confronting them and stay focused to establish their own small businesses to support their families, Kumasi-based renowned butcher, Alhaji lbrahim Justice Atipaga has declared his intention to contest the upcoming National Delegates Congress of the National Democratic Congress (N.D.C) as the National Zongo Caucus Coordinator and win to make his dream becomes reality.
The National Zongo Caucus Coordinator Aspirant who claimed to have completed all documentary processes regarding to the Congress, dropped the hints in an interview with this correspondent on Saturday September 4, 2021 at the new Kumasi Central Market where he operates his business.
The aspirant observed that for some years now, politicians have taken the destiny of Zongo residents, particularly the youth for granted, branding them as lazy people, though they hardly make any efforts to justify their claim.
Justice Atipaga rubbished the notion that Zongo youth are lazy, stressing that the politicians are rather insensitive to the plights of the Zongo residents, because after using them during electioneering campaign to occupy political positions, they leave them (Zongo residents) to suffer to their fate.
Holding political office for three consecutive times as the Ashanti Regional Treasurer, aside working on various political committees of the Ndc in the Ashanti Region, Atipaga said he is matured enough to transform his rich experience to free Zongo residents from their financial predicament, since there are more avenues that need to be revitalized for job creation.
Currently working as a butcher, the former Ashanti Region Treasurer of the Ndc hinted that he is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of the New Kumasi Central Market Credit Union having used the outfit to give financial assistance to many unemployed youth In the metropolis irrespective of ones political affiliation or backgrounds to start their own small businesses to make ends meet.
According to Atipaga, a good politician is the one who thinks about the welfare of the ordinary people on the long term side of the economy, and not the one who will use colorful languages or vigilante groups to make his way through and disappointment the people.
Today, Atipaga said many politicians have taken advantage of the ignorance of the Zongo youth and recruit them as vigilante boys, who do "monkey" jobs for the politicians who discard them to suffer to their fate after winning political power.
My agenda of coming forward to break the chain are based on the reasons of abusing the rights of Zongo residents by the politicians and many more, Alhaji lbrahim Justice Atipaga told the correspondent, and hoped that the delegates would embrace his policies and give him the mandate to ensure that his plans come to fruition when the Congress takes off.
