Leaked Screenshot Reveals The Error EC Made In John Boadu's Election Results

Following the just ended NPP National Delegates Elections, a screenshot of the mistake the Electoral Commissioner for the occasion made in John Boadu's results has gone viral.

Although the mistake didn't actually changed the outcome of the elections, an attention must be drawn to it to keep the EC on its toes.

On the sheet the Returning Officer from EC wrote; Two Thousand and Twenty Four for the figure 2524. Instead of writing it Two Thousand, Five Hundred and Twenty Four (2524). That means when the figure was written in words, 500 was reduced from John Boadu's vote. That was the results for John Boadu, the incumbent NPP General Secretary who just lost the elections to Justice Frimpong Kodua (JFK).

Following the leaked screenshot, a page on Facebook called Ghanaian Citizen TV has made an audio explaining why they believe that such error should not be committed again.

They believe that if the results were to be sent to a Coalition Centre and person in charge decides to not to look at the number (figure) side but the words side, John Boadu would have lost 500 votes.

Reactions

Some people believe that even in the national elections, such errors happen and so there is no need to comment on that error.

Others believe that if not corrected it can affect other subsequent national elections.
