The resignation of the Member of Parliament for North Tongu constituency, Honorable Okudzeto Ablakwa, from Appointment Committee of Parliament (APC), has created an intensive uproar on social media and other traditional channels.
Some foot soldiers and pertinent sympathizers of National Democratic Congress (NDC) have called for the resignation of their leadership in Parliament, especially the Minority Leader, Honourable Haruna Iddrisu and Minority Chief Whip, Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak.
Their request is based on the unanimous approval of Minister of Finance, Mr Ken Ofori Atta and other ministerial appointees of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
However, the famous Ghanaian broadcaster, Afia Pokuah popularly known as Vihm Lady, has made a public statement in support of Honourable Haruna Iddrisu leadership.
According to her, Honourable Haruna Iddrisu has done unprecedented work in NDC than many other political bigwigs in the party.
Therefore, Honourable Haruna Iddrisu doesn’t deserve the attacks some NDC supporters have unleashed against him.
She wrote that
“Eiiii why are people attacking Hon Haruna Iddrisu like this?
This fine gentleman has done far better than most of the NDC politicians I know. I stand with Haruna Iddrisu and I will explain why this evening. Let us see who fire will burn”
