Elections is here again and the good people of Ghana are very anxious to go to the polls and excercise their franchise on who to entrust the leadership of this country into.

People have different opinions as to what will inform their decision to vote in the upcoming Elections which is scheduled for December 7th. Some are going to focus on the policies of political parties, Others will focus on the track record of the candidates involved whiles others may also vote based on party membership.

Meanwhile, One of the recent acts by the President that has been the talk in town is the last minute cutting of Sods for projects.

As we all know, we have only 48 days more to go into the elections and it is now that the president together with his vice are busy cutting Sods for projects to begin.

Ghanaians keep wondering why President Akufo Addo could not do all these things within the past three years in office and just some two months to end his term before he is busy cutting all these numerous Sods accross the country. We managed to do some analysis and came up with some reasons that may account for President Akufo Addo's last minute Sod cutting.

One may wonder why Akufo Addo will relax all these years in office to this last days to Elections before he will be cutting Sods for numerous projects accross the country.

Since Elections is just around the corner, the President has adapted to this Sod cutting Agenda as a way to lure the people to vote for him. He knows the people will be happy to see developmental projects in their area and hence doing it this time will surely help him win some votes. This was something that Akufo Addo Promised not to do prior to the 2016 Elections.

According to him, he won't be cutting Sods for projects in last days of his Government.

Today as we speak, the President is always cutting Sods for projects within 2 months to Elections. Is clear is only a vote buying gimmick.

The novel Coronavirus Pandemic has affected lives and activities. We can't blame everything on President Akufo Addo for waiting to only Cut Sods for projects in these last days in office. The outbreak of covid 19 in the country has also Affected the progress of work.

It has delayed many projects that could have been started earlier on. The President has no other option than to wait for the novel Coronavirus to be controlled up to a minimum level before hitting the grounds to do some of these Sod cutting that could have been done earlier.

Before a project begins, the money for that project must be available before anything else.

At times securing funding for the projects may delay. The president have to wait to complete all that processes of getting the money before he finally Cut Sod for any project.
