He Does Not Want To Be Blamed: Massive Reactions As Ayikoi Otoo Quits Chairmanship Race

The Chair of the National Elections Committee of the New Patriotic Party has revealed that Nii Ayikoi Otoo has withdrawn from the National Chairmanship race. He made this known at a press conference in Accra on Wednesday, July 6, 2022.

He also revealed that Three others, Dr. Kwame Afriyie – aspirant for the national organizer position, Akosua Serwaa Bonsu, an aspirant for the national women’s organizer position, and Tumfuor Klinsman Karikari – aspirant for national youth organizer have also withdrawn from the race.

The Chairman also announced that the election is scheduled to take place at the Accra Sports Stadium from 15th to 17th July 2022.

Even though Mr. Peter Mac Manu did not give reasons why Nii Ayikoi took that decision, many Ghanaians have reacted to the news and have drawn their own interpretations. Readers can admit that the NPP government is currently going through some challenges due to economic issues.

Some have explained that it was the best decision that he made because it would have been a waste of his money due to the possibility of the NPP losing the elections.

Others have said that the leaders might have asked him to step down. A social media user has also explained that he probably does not want to be blamed when the already messed party loses the next national elections.

What are your thoughts on the ongoing discussions?
