Bernard Antwi Boasiako (Chairman Wontumi), the Ashanti Region Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has stated that he is willing to cooperate with Justin Frimpong Kodua (JFK), the recently elected General Secretary of the party, despite the fact that he did not support his candidacy.
Delegates were urged to vote to keep Mr. John Boadu as chairman by Wontumi.
The national delegate meeting on Saturday, however, resulted with JFK replacing Boadu as general secretary.
Chairman Wontumi wrote to the newly-elected General Secretary to say that while he had backed John Boadu in the race against him, God knows best and that he thus accepts the result.
As far as I am concerned, God knows what is best for our beloved party. I supported JB, but the delegates in their own wisdom chose you. Chairman Wontumi stated, "We look forward to working hard so that together we can 'Break The 8' may God bless you and once again, congratulations to you and the NPP for victorious elections," he added.
