The minister of interior speaking at parliament after been summoned by the speaker of parliamentary on a matter concerning the security of the Member of Parliaments ordered the IGP to deploy 200 Security Personnels to serve as body guards to this MPs.
This announcement was followed by the murder of an incumbent MP of Mfantseman, Mr Ekow Kwabena Hayford in his abode by an unknown armed robbers. Although some security analysts did not agree to this idea of the honourable minister, Hon Ambrose Dery, however the minister went ahead to order the IGP to deploy security guards to the MPs.
This is to ensure that the lives of the MPs are secured so as to enable them carry out their duties without fear.
However, some renowned security analysts like Adams Bona disagree with the idea following that it is not necessary to deploy security guards to MPs because one security guard can not withstand the pressure of this ganged armed robbers and for that matter needless.
Nevertheless the Interior Minister and a Member of Parliament to the Nandom Constituency, Hon Ambrose Dery, said that the Constitution provided for the security for the head of the parliament thus the President of the Republic of Ghana so will there be the need to provide security to the MPs.
