Recently it has been reported that the CEO of the company that was supposed to be procure mathematical sets for the first Wasser batch of the free shs has been arrested. He was arrested by the National Investigation Bereau (NIB).
There is the claim that the free shs students never received the mathematical sets for their wassce exams. The former minister of education, Hon. Opoku Prempeh denied any allegations of him being involved or benefiting from the procurement of the mathematical sets. He made this assertion when he was asked questions about it during his vetting by parliament’s appointment committee.
Another Problem that people had with the mathematical set is that they think the unit price of the mathematical set is too high. It has been revealed that the unit price of the maths set is Gh¢75. But it has been explained that the maths set will include or includes a scientific calculator.
This is a photo of the maths set:
This then shows that the price for the maths set is within normal set if it includes the scientific calculator.
