Mrs. Ophelia Mensah Hayford who is de wife of slain former member of parliament Mr. Ekow Kwansah Hayford is likely to win de 2020 polls to retain de seat. Mrs. Mensah Hayford will make history by winning a second term for Mfantseman Constituency with over 36,021 against her competitor Mr. James Odziifo Essoun who had below 32,500 during de provisional results. Her late husband Mr. Ekow Kwansah who was de Parliamentary Candidate for de Constituency was gunned down some few weeks to de elections after some armed robbers attacked him on his way home from campaign tour.
Mrs. Hayford was asked by de New Patriotic Party to step-in nd continue de work of her husband. Some people spoke against de directives by de NPP party executives. These are just provisional results showing that Mrs. Hayford can win de election after the final results is declared by de Electoral Commission.
