President Akufo Addo and his administration are now experiencing the effects of a hanged Parliament after the 2022 budget statement was rejected in Parliament on Friday 26th November 2021.
Giving his general overview of the 2022 budget statement, a journalist and the host of 'Good Morning Africa' on Pan Africa television, Kwame Owusu Danso, has stated that in his opinion the 2022 budget shouldn't be passed so that politicians too will go hungry, and feel how the ordinary Ghanaians are feeling.
Kwame Owusu Danso made this statement in today's episode 'Good Morning Africa' on Pan Africa television when he called for the rejection of the 2022 budget.
According to Kwame Owusu Danso, In his respectful opinion, the government shouldn't have any money to spend in 2022 so that the politicians will feel what the people feel.
Kwame Owusu Danso indicated that when the politicians wake up in the morning, and there is no money in their pocket, then they will begin to think and act differently because it appears that since they don't struggle for money, they don't feel how the people feel. "That's why when they wake up and they are bellyful, they will just introduce taxes, E-Levy and all those irrelevant taxes."
Kwame Owusu Danso revealed that when they promised that the surest way to improve our cash reserves is not through taxation, but different means of investment and cutting down on some unnecessary expenditures, Ghanaians thought they were going to move us from taxation to production because that's what Dr. Mahamud Bawumia told us, but it appears that we are rather being moved from taxation to taxations.
"So, I think that they shouldn't pass the budget for 2022, so that the politicians will be hungry because when they are hungry, they will think wisely and begin to reason with the ordinary Ghanaians on the streets." He added.
