This amount donated was to facilitate the building of a maternity ward for the government hospital. The hospital lacked this facility for a very long time.
The Adom news team as a follow up on this news item, interviewed residents of this area to ascertain the truth of the matter. Mr. Kingsford Oppong Arthur in the interview revealed that, he was a withness to the donation of the 50,000 Ghana cedis meant for this project. He further explained that, it was not only the MP's donation but also other stakeholders and key personalities donated other amounts in support of this project.
Mr Kingsford was surprised at how nothing has been done in almost a year. He showed the news team the area demacarted for the project. There was no structure on the plot of land not even foundation as indicated by Mr Kingsford.
Some of the women who visited the hospital for treatment were also interviewed. Two women were interviewed and they both complained about the difficulties with accomodation and utilities in the hospital.
They complained about rooms to sleep when admitted. Bathroom and toilet facilities were also a major problem in the hospital. They also complained of overcrowding in the various wards.
The residents appealed to the government to take action and the media to apply the need pressure or push for the matter to be urgently handled.
