MP for Fanteakwa South in the Eastern region drags Chief of Osino to Court.

The member of parliament for the people of Fanteakwa South in the Eastern region, Hon. Kofi Okyere Agyekum popularly known as Arafat has dragged the chief of Osino, Osabarima Otu Darko IV to court over the building of a new district Court. The district Court project has been launched and hence is to commence without any hindrances of any kind. The member of parliament summoned the contractor to court as 1st defendant then the chief.

Osino, which is now the capital town of the newly created district Fanteakwa South will have its own district Court after the project is completed. Osino was formerly under the Fanteakwa District which is now Fanteakwa North and Fanteakwa South. Begoro remains the capital of Fanteakwa North while Osino becomes the capital of Fanteakwa South. The chief of Osino released a land to a contractor for the building of the district Court. After the sod cutting ceremony, the member of parliament, Hon Kofi Okyere Agyekum dragged the contractor to court as 1st defendant for accepting to build the district Court alleging that the land is his.

As to whether a new land will be issued by the chief to the contractor or the project will be cancelled, we are waiting for the outcome of the court case.
