The Deputy Majority Leader In Parliament, Honorable Alexander Afenyo-Markin has revealed that he will only support one call on the controversial E-levy.

While speaking on Asaase Breakfast Show on Asaase Radio on Friday, February 25, 2022, the honorable member of Parliament said Ghanaians should rather ask for accountability and transparency from the government on E-levy and not reject the bill outright because it's a necessary levy for the government. He revealed that Ghanaians asking fo accountability on E-levy is the call he will support.

“We are letting them know that this is a necessary levy, if we had other means for me the way to go is rather to ask for a transparent system of accounting for this Levy and I will support that call, where every six months the ministry of finance will be required together with the roads and highways minister, trade to come and update Parliament on the extent to which these levies have been utilized."

What's your take on this article? Are you convinced by the deputy majority leader?
