The outcome of the recent Cape Coast Court ruling sparked massive stir, debates and arguments across all social media platforms after the presiding Judge unexpectedly ruled against the largest opposition party’s former Member of parliament for Assin North, John Gyakye Quayson.

The Presiding Judge, Justice Kwasi Boakye haven’t found Mr John Gyakye Quayson guilty ordered for his MPship to be stripped after annulling the 2020 parliamentary elections whilst ordering for a fresh election to be conducted at the Assin North constituency.

Aside losing both the court case and his seat as the Member of Parliament representing the Assin North constituency, Mr Quayson has unexpectedly been charged with perjury after a recent complaint lodged by the central regional secretary of the incumbent party, NPP Richard Takyi Mensah.

With respect to this, the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service has recently invited the popularly known former Assin North MP, John Gyakye Quayson for further interrogations and investigations into the outcome of the 2020 parliamentary election results at his constituency.

According to reports gathered from the CID of Ghana Police Service, the former Member of parliament for Assin North, John Gyakye Quayson has been given an official letter to appear before the CID of the Ghana Police Service for further interrogation and investigations.

In addition to this, Mr John Gyakye Quayson is set to appear before the CID of the Ghana Police service on August 3 or August 6, 2021.
