The Majority Will Lose If There's Secret Voting On E-Levy- Prof Joshua Alarbi

Executive member of the National Democratic Congress, professor Joshua Alarbi has stated that the majority in parliament will lose if there is secret voting on controversial electronic transaction levy introduced by the New Patriotic Party government. Parliament shall be sitting on 25th January and this is the Major bill that will be discussed and be voted on as the house couldn't find solution to the controversial bill last year.

Prof Joshua Alarbi speaking on TV XYZ morning show today, Monday, 10th January, 2022 on all out analysis of the 8th parliament stated that he has heard president Nana Akufo-Addo saying that, his MPs are majority in parliament but he wonder how they're running away from passing the E-Levy.

Prof Joshua Alarbi stated that the NDC MPs are focus and they are working for the masses and he know that if there is secret voting on the controversial electronic transaction levy, the majority will lose drastically because they know that the minority has the numbers.

He questioned that how can 137 MPs suppress 138 MPs in Parliament?

According to Joshua Alarbi, NPP want to win 2024 election by all means and that is the reason why they want to pass the E-Levy bill by force to break the 8.

When Joshua Alarbi was questioned about minority MPs may end up disappointing Ghanaians, he stated that unless the majority MPs humble themselves in parliament and follow what the minority want from the executive.

He expressed that brawls happening in parliament will come down if the majority understand that they don't have the powers to pass bills but its both the majority and minority have powers to do so.

According to Joshua Alarbi, the speaker of Parliament for 7th parliament pampered NPP MPs so much when they have 169 MPs and NDC had 106 and that's the reason why the majority leader is attacking the speaker everyday.

He challenged that there should be a secret voting on E-Levy when parliament resume and Ghanaians will see the outcome of the result.
