Today is Day Three of the vetting of minister nominees of President Akufo-Addo. Before today nominees like Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, Dr. Adutwum, Kan Dapaah and Kweku Agyeman-Manu. Tonight saw the vetting of the Minister Designate for Energy, Matthew Opoku Prempeh.

At the vetting he was queried about certain comments he made about John Mahama and Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang during the computer placing brouhaha that saw many stranded at the Independence Square.

“On hindsight, I regret the allegations made against former President John Mahama on busing children to collapse at the computerized school selection programme exercise at the Independence Square. I should have used other words” The minister Designate said.

He also apologized for to Prof Naana Opoku Agyemang for harsh words he used on her. Dr. Prempeh spoke about his desire to strengthen the energy sector and expand it to rural areas all around the country.

What do you make of the apology form Matthew Opoku Prempeh? Was he compelled to render it so as to appease the vetting board? Share your thoughts!
