The Executive Director of ASEPA, Mensah Thompson recently reacted to the move by GAF to immediately remove the military personnel who guard the Speaker. Mensah Thompson revealed that he recently interacted with some people in the Office of the Speaker of Parliament. According to him, the move by the Ghana Armed Forces is only a "formal protocol followed by the military". He added that there is no bad intentions behind this move.

In reaction to this post from Mensah Thompson, many Ghanaians have spoken. Some Ghanaians expressed surprise at how loudmouth Mensah Thompson has immediately become the Public Relation Officer of the Ghana Armed Forces. This is no surprise since an unknown force pushed him, Mensa Thompson, to apologize to the GAF for peddling falsehood about the chartering of the jets by relatives of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo. Others also blasted Mensa Thompson for jumping to the defense of wrongdoing.
