Kwesi Pratt Jnr Quizzes Government After Reducing Inflation To Low Record

The managing editor for insight news paper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr has expressed shocked over what he saw in one of the news papers today and questioned NPP government led by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo that "where is this coming from?"

Kwesi Pratt Jnr speaking on Pan African TV morning show hosted by Kwame Obeng Danso today, Thursday, 10th June, 2021 stated that he has seen one of the newspapers today, which stated that Ghana's inflation rate has fall to a record of unexpected low and he screamed on the show.

He questioned that where is this coming from while things have been going up since the beginning of the year?

According to the veteran journalist, he don't know any item in Ghana which prices has not gone up and said the price of everything has been shooting into the sky like a rocket so why should the government be making such statement to the general public?

Kwesi Pratt said food prices are doubling, Kenkey, petrol and everything has gone up, shoes, clothes has gone up and yet the government statisticians has managed to tell Ghanaians that inflation has been reduced to low record.

He stated that what can Ghanaians believe again about this government?

He however told the host that the president proclaimed to all Ghanaians that he will build Ghana without aid and he has received a lot of applauds for that but in the next moment, he was seen asking for debt cancellation, in another moment he was seen before IMF looking for loans which is shocking.

" My goodness what can we believe again about this government? Look at where our debt has reached.

According to them, we are spending close to 90% of our total revenue plus grants on debt servicing, debt payment and public sector payment so what can we believe again after saying that?

I honestly don't know what to believe about the Ghanaian economy again. Statement from IMF, world Bank, and ministry of finance are so confusing and you don't know what to believe about them.

If that is true, then we have granted this economy into a halt" he added on the show.
