“Be honest and tell us what's wrong” - Manasseh Azure Awuni asks government

The current power outage in Ghana has been a great concern to many business owners, small scale entrepreneurs, social commentators and ordinary citizens.

This is because power outage doesn’t discriminate or favour some particular group or tribe on the basis of political affiliation or colour.

The most frustrating thing is that the real causes of this challenge are sometimes concealed to protect the image of the government at the detriment of the masses.

On March 7, 2021 Ghana witnessed nationwide “dumsor” or power outage.

This unfortunate incident caused a massive stir on social media platforms, traditional broadcasting channels and other digital operational systems.

According to a press statement that was issued by the Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo), they encountered unsolicited technical hitches during the day and it interrupted the power supply system.

However, the famous investigative journalist and freelance writer, Manasseh Azure Awuni, asserted in his Facebook post, dated on March 7, 2021 that power supply has not been consistent these days.

Therefore, the appropriate institution should be honest enough to tell Ghanaians the reasons for the unstable power supply.

He wrote that

“Apart from today's outage, power supply hasn't been stable for some weeks now. Be honest and tell us what's wrong.”
