I broke down and wept when I heard the news – MP for Ketu South, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie recalls.

The Member of Parliament for Ketu South constituency, Honourable Abla Dzifah Gomashie, has narrated how she broke down and wept after she heard a new record she had set during the 2020 parliamentary elections.

In an interview with Oheneyere Naana Danso, popularly known as Gifty Anti on The Satndpoint show, the ace actress and MP for Ketu South constituency stipulated that, since the creation of Ketu South constituency, she is the first woman to contest and win more votes in the constituency. She obtained 84,664 votes, representing (84.14%) of valid total votes cast.

“I broke down and wept when l heard the news. I just locked myself in a room and let it all out”, she said.

According to her, it wasn’t easy to cope with internal issues and external wrangles during the 2020 election campaign trail. This is because some close comrades deserted her in the midst of her challenges.

Honourable Abla Dzifa Gomashie further stated that she arrived at a point of choosing between campaigning or taking care of her late husband, Brigadier General Martin K.G Ahiaglo (Rtd).

Nonetheless, God sent helpers to assist her in dealing with all these voluminous crises despite the negligence of some trusted colleagues and relatives.
