Mahama thanks Chief of Staff, others for their support during the death of his brother

Former President John Dramani Mahama has expressed appreciation to the people who extended their condolences to him and his family during the death of his brother, Emmanuel Adam Mahama. The 2020 flag bearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress is particularly thankful to members of his party who supported him during the period. John Dramani Mahama is also thankful to the Chief of Staff, Madam Frema Osei-Opare, the Chief of Air Staff, and the Airforce for the role they played in airlifting the remains of his brother to his hometown.

It will be recalled that Emmanuel Adam Mahama died on Friday, December 31 after a short illness. His death was first announced by the spokesperson of the former president, Joyce Bawa Mogtari on social media. John Dramani Mahama received several messages of condolences, especially from members of the opposition National Democratic Congress.

The funeral also saw the attendance of the party faithful. The New Patriotic Party however came under severe criticism for their seeming silence about the death of the brother of the former president. Efo Walanyo, the Bono Youth Organizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress descended on Nana Akuffo-Addo and Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia for not publicly sending any condolence message to John Dramani Mahama.

Meanwhile, In a Facebook post, among others, John Dramani Mahama was appreciative of the key role played by the Chief of Staff, Madam Frema Osei-Opare. "We also want to thank Madam Chief of Staff, Madam Frema Osei-Opare, the Chief of Air Staff, and the Airforce for the support to airlift the remains of our brother on Sunday", an excerpt of the post reads.
